COVID 19 NOTICE-   We are currently successfully performing assessments  at our home offices following strict safety guidelines. 

We understand the challenges of being a struggling reader... and of being the parent or teacher of a struggling reader.

Research reveals that up to to 10%  of the population will exhibit characteristics of dyslexia, yet only five out of every one hundred dyslexics  will be properly identified and assisted.  Dyslexia Associates of San Antonio,  (D.A.S.A.) exists to assess and assist those with reading issues.

D.A.S.A. offers reasonably priced dyslexia assessments.

Assessments are administered at the home offices of our director and/or other diagnosticians. Having a lower overhead allows our diagnosticians to provide quality assessment at a fraction of the price others may charge. We offer comprehensive testing and reporting, including recommendations for individual accommodations at work or school. Our reading assessments, which are professionally prepared, meet the requirements for legal 504  and special education ARD accommodation requests  for school, state testing, or work. We are here to assist, not to exploit. Feel free  to write us for references  from former clients or to receive more information. Initial questions and consultations by telephone are absolutely free.

Texas Education agency now recommends FIE (full individual evaluation) for dyslexia assessment. This  includes cognitive (IQ) testing and allows consideration of specal education support. Parents have a legal right to bring an independent evaluation to the public school for documentation and consideration, and parents who previously received an FIE from their child's school and disagree with the results have the right to request a third-party follow-up evaluation. We will be happy to explain all of your options so that you may make an informed decision about is best for your child or yourself.

If the client is Spanish-language dominant, our  state certified Master Reading Teacher and state-certified diagnostician R. Robinson is ESL certified  and trilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese).

ADULT ASSESSMENTS:

Although many of our dyslexia assessments are performed for school-age students, D.A.S.A. is able to assess and re-assess college-age students and adults as well.  Simply provide us with the name of the  disability services contact at your college  so that we can  tailor your assessment to the school's specific policies and needs.

D.A.S.A now takes Venmo payment as well as cash, check, or credit card.
